Last Thursday I had the pleasure of hosting some of the finalists in Quest for the Voice, a Minnesota youth slam team. They are sponsored by the Minnesota Spoken Word Association and Sha Cage and e.g. bailey were there to hear their words. Right now they're trying to raise $10,000 to take the team to San Jose for an international competition--contact them at MNSWA to make a donation! 
This photo (snapped by poet Moira Pirsch) is of a very talented poet named Verse--I loved her work especially. One of her pieces was about her bitter experience of being the object of ridicule and homophobia in a recent trip to Jamaica. "Chi Chi Man" is what she was called there. Check out her work--you will not be disappointed.
